World first as Pacific ocean rowers prepare for live broadcast of adventure.

Billy at sea

The fans of the Great Pacific Race will be treated to a unique spectacle during the 2016 edition of the race.  Alex and Darren (Billy) from Team Spotlight YOPD are thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, their race across the Pacific will be broadcast live!  Every moment of the pair’s journey will be captured by one of four cameras (2 fixed and 2 portable) which will then be transmitted back to land via a high speed satellite communication.  This will allow the thousands following around the World to get a no-holes-barred view of exactly what it takes to row the Pacific in the World’s leading human endurance challenge.

This is without question the most extreme live broadcast that has ever been attempted.  We cannot wait to share these incredible images and stories with you in real time throughout the Great Pacific Race.
