Ocean Valour almost ready for departure

New Ocean Wave don’t only operate races we also help individuals and teams achieve their own ocean rowing goals.  We have been working with Team Ocean Valour who in a few days’ time will set out on their quest to row across the North Atlantic from New York, USA to Salcombe, Devon, UK.  They are aiming to break the 119 year old two man record for rowing the route set by Harbo and Samuelson in 1896 which currently stands at 55 days 13 hours.  Even if they fail to hit this target but are successful they will become the youngest pair to complete the route.

Tom is the founder of the team and started the campaign after his father died from a brain tumour in 2012.  Tom sees this row as an opportunity to honour his fathers life and raise as much money as possible for the Brain Tumour Charity.  During the row the pair will be sending back messages and photos of their journey on their blog and see exactly where they are at any time via their tracker.

If you would like to support the team and encourage them then it couldn’t be more simple. For those in the UK you can simply send a text with the code OVGB55 followed by an amount £10, £20, £50, £100 etc  to 70070. Or you can visit the team’s JustGiving page.
