Although all entrants in the Pacific Rowing Race will have to take part in a VHF radio course there’s no harm in getting ahead of everyone else and learning how to use a VHF radio now.  This vital piece of equipment is particuarly important if you’re planning a practice row as it will allow you to talk to other boats near you and call for help if required.
